2022 brought many NEW THINGS into my life including this motto:
God is #1
Self-care is #2
Pouring into others is #3
I guess you can call it my way of life, or perhaps, my recipe for life.
I may be headlining this community but the honest truth is….I struggle. I struggle just like you but I aim to be transparent as I walk this journey called life. That is what Encourage Your Neighbor is all about. I believe that sharing my experiences with others can truly help someone and I believe that it has the power to transform lives.
There are days when it seems impossible to gather up enough energy just to get out of bed and start my day. There are times when I just feel like giving up. BUT there is hope. There is hope for us all.
The day I started to put God #1 in my life is the day my life changed forever. I still struggle of course. The devil is always at work, especially when he sees YOU at work IN THE WORD OF GOD! I am reminded of the scripture:
1 Corinthians 10:13. "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it."
God has changed my appetite for sin. I am not perfect ( We don't have to be perfect for God to use us.) but I no longer have the desire for it. I surrendered my life to him and he is with me every step of the way molding me into who he wants me to be.
After getting into the word of God, things started to reveal itself to me. That's when the lack of self-care started to reveal itself to me. Many things are still being uncovered today! I got God no doubt about it but he wants us to have people here on earth to fellowship with too. God wants us to have a support system! With that being said, God is continuously placing people in my life who are walking alongside me through it all.
I love to help people, I count it a great JOY to be able to pour into the lives of others. The thing I had to realize about this is that "you can't pour from an empty cup" It is a beautiful thing to want to help others, BUT you have to take care of yourself FIRST.
God Bless
Brittany. H
